Pau Hana Parrot Heads Club Year End Synopsis for 2009

Wow, 2009 could not have started off better for the Pau Hana Parrot Head Club out here on Oahu in Hawaii. Not only did Jimmy open up his new restaurant “Jimmy Buffett’s at the Beachcomber” but Margaritaville Entertainment (Tamara Baldanza) made sure to include our club in all the Sneak Peek Openings and Blessings including a private concert by Jimmy for about 400 people, we were able to get 75 of our members in!  Obviously, the buzz with Jimmy’s concerts on Maui and here in Waikiki along with the opening of the Restaurant has boosted our membership.

We did lose our favorite Trop Rock entertainer Scotty Bryan due to him retiring from the Navy.  He has now landed in Florida and pursuing a full time music career, he will be missed!

A brief synopsis of our clubs events this year include:

Last night Hawaii Parrot Heads were treated to a fantastic show at Jimmy Buffett’s at the Beach Comber.  The main act was none other than the ‘Man” himself, Jimmy Buffett along with band members Mac McAnally, Jake Shimabukuro and Robert Greenwich.  Fellow Pau Hana ParrotHeads Phlocked in from San Diego, Seattle and elsewhere around the country for this non advertised last minute show.  It was a really unique way to see Jimmy up close,  in person for this entirely acoustic show.  Most of the Phlock agreed, it was the best outing with Jimmy they’ve been too yet…Please check out our photo gallery for some great pics.

Great time on the high seas… Although this year, the group returned with ALL members they started with on their respective boats. It is rumored that club President Tom Bullard, hooked up with a mermaid, however these rumors could not be substantiated, due to lack of any physical evidence. Members frolicked and played in the water for hours… Great time!!
